Rogue Leader has some of the best graphics ever seen on a home console and it's proper, old-fashioned, Star Wars--if that doesn't raise at least an eyebrow of your interest then there's probably not much in the world of video games that will. Thankfully, the jaw-dropping graphics are matched up to a very playable shoot 'em-up.
|

The game involves you, as Mario's brother Luigi, trying to exorcise a haunted mansion of ghosts by sucking them into a vacuum cleaner. If only Bill Murray and the Catholic Church had realised it was so easy. Except it's not really that easy at all: the complications and cleverness of the game come in with the use of light and shadow.

Super Monkey Ball does exactly what it says on the box: it features a monkey, in a ball, and it is absolutely super. This rather odd game is similar to the classic Marble Madness, except that instead of controlling a marble through a maze-like course you control the course and must tilt and rotate it to get the cheeky little simian to the exit.

Set on eight aquatic courses in exotic locales, such as at a Venetian canal and an Arctic bay. Each rider is rated for acceleration, top speed, maneuvering, stunt skill, and strength. The game has natural effects such as sun glare, moonlight, and fog, as well as interactive environments with obstacles

Crazy Taxi |
Extreme G3 |
Bloody Roar: Primal Fury |
Like your racing games fast, furious and full of
spectacular smashes? You're in luck. With Burnout, Acclaim remove all
pretence of going for a serious simulation and instead serve up a
delicious dish of pure arcade fun. There are two key selling points to the
game--the speed the action runs at and the spectacular crashes.
|

The arcade version of Crazy Taxi was a massive hit, with its high speed driving and pounding soundtrack. Creators, Sega, ported it over to the Dreamcast where it sold by the bucket-load, and now it's available for the PS2, the Xbox and the GameCube. And it's superb. The aim of the game is simple. Drive a ludicrously fast taxi and make oodles of cash as quickly as possible--easy! |

Take a pinch of Tron's lightcycle action, mix in more than a dollop of WipEout and introduce the mix to the PlayStation 2, and you have Extreme G3. It's a tried and trusted formula--futuristic motorcycling on gravity-defying circuits with armaments on the cycles and turbo boosts which make everything go blurry--and it's utterly engrossing. |

The title combines features exclusive to the Cube with the platform's graphical and technological advancements for a game worthy of the term "next generation." Bloody Roar offers fast and fluid fighting action and animations, incredible attack moves and special effects, and dynamic lighting. |

While you still can ride as pros Dave Mirra, Ryan Nyquist, or others, players also can create their own rider, choose their own sponsors, and even design their own park. As you progress through the game, your custom rider may even get a chance to unseat Mirra himself as king of the BMX hill.

In Smash Bros Melee the pleasantries get thrown
out and the gloves (except for Mario's) come off. This update of the N64
favourite has these and other video game icons in furious, yet utterly
absurd fisticuffs that usually make for a smashing good time. Just make
sure you have at least one human opponent to pound on. |

The entire Universal Studios theme park is yours to explore, with Woody Woodpecker acting as your guide. You will see things no visitor has before and collect secret items that help you complete a series of challenges. The biggest challenge of all is seeing the whole park before it closes at dusk.
